Dance of the idiot boy
I was sort of willing (sort of) to give W the tiniest sliver of the benefit of the doubt over this Hurricane Katrina thing. Yes, he mismanaged the whole thing, but so did the local and state authorities. Everyone screwed up. But then I was watching The Daily Show last night and he had video of George Bush talking, things I haven't heard yet. Sigh. Maybe you've already heard them and have already reconciled with the fact that he's getting dumber with age.
In one clip, he said that he remembers going to New Orleans to have a good time - and then he turns around to one of his posse and says, chuckling, maybe too good a time. In another clip, he mentions how they're going to get Trent Lott's house rebuilt and he can't wait to sit on his front porch again. Jon Stewart didn't even have a retort for that.
Can't Idiot Boy's handlers staple his mouth shut at crucial times? What happened to his puppeteer at this key time? Did he whine about how this was the time for him to become a real live boy, so they gave him free rein? Whenever he speaks off the cuff, we realize again what an ass he is. Guess what? We have him for three more years. Seems awfully long, doesn't it?

Man, I have got to move.
Krys, I think we missed our "free pass" when he was re-elected. Now, we have no one to blame but ourselves.
No, they think we're idiots, or don't know what to think. If there are no consequences- and I fear that possibility - we are a pathetic nation.
I'll try to be honest here. Speaking as an Australian I agree that W is an idiot. Personally I don't think he's a malicious idiot, I kind of feel sorry for him as I just get the feeling he doesn't know what he's doing in the top job.
I do think Americans are stupid for re-electing him, and for invading Iraq. I don't think all Americans are stupid, but there is a general impression of arrogance and tactlessness which is hard to shake.
I wouldn't say Americans are idiots, though I am baffled how someone who seems so thick could be elected.
I loved the one yesterday where he was saying "We have to look at what went right, and what went wrong..." Went right? Thousands dead or left starving for five days and one of your major cities turning into a poisonous lake, and your president is talking about things having gone right? Couldn't you impeach him or something?
