Is it getting better?
Thirty-six years ago today National Guardsmen fired on Vietnam War protestors at Kent State University. I suppose we should be thankful that Bush doesn't know any history, or he might think this is a pretty good idea.

I always remember the date. I didn't blog about it, in part because I don't think I have anything fresh to say, and in part because I was away.
But I'm glad you did post.
In school, we were once forced to watch some sort of hippie re-enactment of this event that was so bad people in my class actually clapped when the shooting started. One of the great challenges of a historical lesson is the people who tell it.
