Picture Day documents simple pleasures
Nothing spectacular today in the picture department. A visit from my sister-in-law, some wintry weather. Sorry - we can't visit exotic locations all the time! The pictures are still fun, though. At least I like them.
But first! A random photograph of Portland. This is looking north (well, northeast) on Broadway. I like it because it's autumn, so the leaves are nicely colored, and it's tough to get this perspective on a street unless you can fly. Luckily, at Portland State University there is a walkway from one building to another that crosses over Broadway. So I took this picture. That's 1000 SW Broadway right in the center of the picture, in case you've been to Portland and are wondering. There's a neat movie theater in the building which showed a lot of mainstream stuff but also a nice selection of more eclectic fare.

This is Shauna, Krys's sister. At this point in her life she was twenty-two years old, but she ate her Thanksgiving turkey with her hands. I almost smacked her. But before I made her use, you know, utensils, I took her picture. I assume by now, she has learned what a knife and fork are. Perhaps not.

During Shauna's visit, we went up to Mount Hood. Good skiing up there. Krys and Shauna took lessons while I went off on my own. Afterward, we took pictures. This is Krys and Shauna.

Here's me putting the moves on my sister-in-law!

This is our townhouse on Christmas Eve, 1998. It snowed a lot that day and was gone by the next day. That's pretty common in Portland. I have mentioned before that we lived on a hill. To get to our home, we had to climb 52 steps. These are just the final ones.

This is our parking lot. Look at all that snow! It's horrific! People in Portland freak out when we got this much snow. They couldn't drive in it!

Sorry for the dull pictures this week. Well, I don't think my sister-in-law is dull, but you might. We'll see what we get next week. Maybe something more exotic. Who knows????

First, you're gonna smack your sister-in-law, then you're hitting on her. A therapist would have a field day with you.
That's the way it is in the family. They're all Italians, you know, so they provoke that kind of reaction!
