Dies picturarum

When last I left you with pictures, my parents and I were driving along the Great Ocean Road in Australia and enjoying the raw, untamed nature. More of that this week, whether you like it or not!

First, because I'm swell, I'll repost the map I used last week. We have left the 12 Apostles behind and are moving west, just so you know.

This first picture is of Loch Ord Gorge. It's pretty neat - the small area between the rocks leads into a tiny bay, which is of course quite violent because of all the water being squeezed into it. The water thunders through the opening and you can barely hear each other speak when you're standing on the beach.

This is my mom and dad standing under an overhang. I like it because of the stalactites (I guess, even though it's not a cave) and because they look so insignificant.

I just liked this arch. Because it's limestone, it won't last, just like the 12 Apostles. I wonder if it's still there.

This is a formation known as London Bridge. Why is it called that, you ask, since it is clearly not a bridge? Well, about a month or two (I'm a little fuzzy on the time, since it was 13 years ago) before we saw this, there was a bridge. Limestone again, and it collapsed into the sea. There was actually a guy trapped on the part that was cut off for a while. That would have been cool to see it collapse. I don't know what they call it now.

That's all for this week. Next week we visit an animal sanctuary and see lots of native Aussie animals. You won't want to miss that!

It's a beautiful country. I want to go back. Everyone should visit. It's only something like 2 grand for a plane ticket. Chump change!
