A small repast of links before surfing ceases for the week while my parents visit

Sign my GuestMap! It's been about a month since someone did, and I'm sad. You wouldn't want to make a father of two impressionable girls cry, would you?

My parents are arriving in town today for a week, so I will have very little time to surf the Internet and seek out crazy stuff, and I definitely won't have time to put it all together on Sunday. I will continue to post some stuff, because we won't be having wacky adventures 24-7, but I can't go surfing. Sorry - you'll just have to find your own neat-o stuff in cyberspace!

However, I have found some goofy stuff in the past couple of days. So you get some today.

Some blogs I have recently discovered, either through the comments here or other ways.

One of the teachers at my school fled Arizona recently and returned to Iowa. She started a blog, because there's nothing better to do in Iowa! (Actually, she blames me. My evil influence is spreading!) Anyway, her blog is here. She has only posted once, and who knows how diligent she will be, but I thought I'd mention her.

I linked to Talking to the Walls yesterday, because Aries327 is moving here, but I'll do it again. Check her out.

Sarcasmo has obviously been here before, because she stole something from me, which I dig. She's a good Philly girl, so I must give her props!

Let's hit the next blog button, because it's fun.

If you can read Chinese, you might like this blog.

If you can read French, you might like this blog. As far as I can tell with my extremely limited knowledge of French, it's a Vietnamese student going to school in Lyon who is spending a year in Australia. How's that for international!

If you can read Spanish, you might like this blog. I'm doing these randomly, people! I'm not trying to find non-English blogs!

If you like awful spelling and grammar, you might like this blog.

If you like to deconstruct baseball, you might like this blog.

I love the "next blog" button. It's so weird.

Random links.

Study links Parkinson's drug Mirapex to the desire to gamble. If you take this drug, you want to go to Vegas, get free drinks and poorly-heated prime roast, and drop lots of ducats at the tables. That's so weird.

Web surfing tops workplace time-wasters. So don't feel bad! You're trendy!

Dave's Long Box is one of the best comics blogs out there, and this week he goes above and beyond. Here and here he reviews Thor #499, which is so bad it needs two parts to hate it! Even if you're not a comic book fan, this is blow-soda-out-of-your-nose funny.

Roxy has a guest blogger picking up her slack, so we get dating stories from hell! (Okay they're not that bad, but they are funny.)

The Complete Norton Anthology of Emily Dickinson, Post-Zoloft Prescription (Table of Contents). Bwah-ha-ha-ha!

Tom Peyer points us to this quiz, which asks the Most Important Question Ever: Can You Roll With Lindsay? I flunked. Mr. Peyer was gone for a bit, but this week he has a bunch of good stuff - go look!

All right, that's enough for now. I'll be back with horror stories about my parents. What good is a blog if you can't air your family's weird (but not particularly dirty) laundry?

You know, I think that "next blog" button automatically takes you to porn.

When I checked my referral logs, I found that one site that consistently referred to me was a blog of a guy who liked wearing panty hose. Honest.
