Not more political crap!

Yes, I'm sorry, but I have to drag the harsh world of politics into your lives again. I really don't mean to be so cynical, I swear!

Anyway, whenever I think the traditionally oppressed minorities in this country (you know, anyone who isn't a well-off, white male) should just let it go and join the 21st century, something happens that reminds me why I get spit on by women, blacks, and homosexuals when I go to the grocery store:

In case that link is no longer free (I was asked questions in order to get to it), I will quote it. See how I help?

The state House of Representatives on Wednesday voted to make it a crime to sell a human egg.

Opponents said the bill would implement a double standard because it would subject the sale of a woman's human eggs to criminal penalties but not criminalize the sale of a man's sperm.

"This treats women different from men," said Rep. Jennifer Burns, R-Tucson.

The sale or offer for sale of a human egg would be a felony punishable by a presumptive term of a year in prison and a fine up to $150,000 plus surcharges.

No supporters of the bill spoke during the morning floor session, but they have said the sale of human eggs exploits women and that the bill would help protect life by restricting the use of human eggs as part of medical research.

Under House Bill 2142, the prohibition would apply to fees paid by a fertilization clinic to a donor but not to reimbursement of costs stemming from donation of eggs for in vitro fertilization, including medical and travel expenses involving with a donation.

The House's 33-22 vote sent the bill to the Senate.

The House also approved, 40-19, and sent to the Senate a separate bill, House Bill 2621, to require that eggs not be taken from a woman without voluntary and informed consent.

In case you can't read between the lines, you know what this is about: abortion. We have reached back even further than a fetus and gone to the woman's egg. Next, extreme lawmakers will say if a man gets a gleam in his eye and the woman denies him sex, she's performing an unlawful abortion and should be prosecuted.

This law is ridiculous. I don't have a problem with the second bill, about stealing someone's egg, but to say that the sale of eggs exploits women is just a smokescreen, because what Arizona's male-dominated legislature really wants is to make sure that nobody does medical research using human eggs. Because science is pure evil, don't you know. If it wasn't, someone in the Bible would have mentioned it.

I'm not sure if the sale of human ova is rampant in Arizona, but if the legislature wants to stop exploiting people, maybe they shouldn't run a state-sponsored lottery, which probably exploits a lot more people than crazy broads running around the neighborhood shouting "I'm ovulating for the highest bidder!"

As a man, to all the women out there, I'm sorry my gender is made up of so many morons. Of course, if you agree with this legislation, you should probably move here (but that's a whole other post!).

I am waiting for the definition of, "freedom" to be revised in the dictionary. I hear the word more now than ever before, but I am seeing our country slowly move toward something far from free. The ignorant masses are embracing their not-so-free existence by voting against the interests of their neighbors and even themselves (or neglecting to vote at all!)...

Sometimes they try to streal your freedom straight on, and then there are those times when they try to do it more subtlely. Both suck.
