Marilyn Chambers

If you're sitting there and thinking to yourself, "Is that a naked Marilyn Chambers holding a box of Ivory Snow?" - the answer is "YES."

I stole this picture from Walker (don't ask what he was doing with it on his blog) because it's awesome.

And Ivory Snow is a washing powder? Did people always carry boxes of washing powder naked back in the old days or is that just something that Marilyn Chambers liked to do in her spare-time? I bet she felt it was like lifting-weights only slightly different and way more fun, right?

We're trying not to think of what she is doing with the Ivory Snow. And that's a good story, Walker - truly.

Astrid, on the off chance you don't understand the significance of the picture, her'e the short version. Marilyn Chambers was the girl holding the baby in the picture on the box. Ivory Snow was supposed to be 99.44 percent pure soap (few chemical additives and stuff), so the Ivory Snow girl was therefore thought to be the very image of purity and goodness. And then she started starring in porn movies, like "Behind the Green Door," and it was all very scandalous. A lot of people thought it was some sort of metaphor for America's loss of innocence, but I think she just got tired of being thought of as the world's most famous virgin and wanted to shock the hell out of everyone (like Britney Spears is trying to do now, I suppose, but Marilyn did it first and much more explicitly).

Thanks Bill, I knew all that except for the fact that Marilyn was actually on the box. That makes it even more awesome.
